About Us
Prime95 is a free, high-performance Windows application developed by George Woltman for the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS). It allows users to contribute computing power toward discovering and verifying Mersenne prime numbers through the PrimeNet system.
Prime95 is also widely used for CPU and system stability testing. Its Torture Test feature applies intensive workloads to help detect calculation errors, overheating, memory instability, cooling problems, and unstable overclocks. It includes configurable FFT tests, worker controls, resource settings, and detailed result logs.
You can download the latest version of Prime95 for Windows from our website. Connect to PrimeNet to participate in GIMPS or select “Just Stress Testing” to evaluate your computer without joining the project.
We provide current releases, installation instructions, troubleshooting resources, and information about performance improvements and bug fixes.
If you have questions, feedback, or need technical assistance, please visit our Contact Us page. When reporting an issue, include your Prime95 version, Windows version, processor model, test type, and relevant error messages.
